There was a time when you would stay with a company forever, but that is no longer the case. Today, we need to move more, sometimes make mistakes and then do it again. In other words, we need change. Above all, we need our work to have meaning.
And that is a major challenge for all companies. The challenge is to build strong teams and preserve the know-how you gain over time as the seasons roll by. It’s not always easy.
In France, new arrivals to the workforce now know that they will change company four to five times during their working lives. And that’s no small thing.
Meanwhile, la belle-iloise has been making superb products and upholding our expertise for nearly 90 years—all thanks to the energy and commitment of the cannery’s staff, past and present.
Some key figures:
· 29% of our employees have been with us for over ten years and 8% for more than 15 years.
· In 2021, no less than 12 employees received a long service award, recognising 20, 30 or 40 years of service to the company.
Even though the trend for long service within a company will fall, for us, it represents how fulfilled our staff feel at la belle-iloise.
That is why we are committed to being a sustainable employer and continuing to work hard to ensure people stay with us for a long time.
