La belle-iloise awarded the Enseigne Responsable sustainability label
We are delighted to report that la belle-iloise has been certified a Label Enseigne Responsible. This independent quality mark recognises our commitment and actions for a more environmentally-friendly society that respects people.
Corporate social responsibility and its vital role
Today there’s no denying that human activities have resulted in climate change, with adverse effects on the planet and our existence. That is why we must now rethink and transform how we operate and live on all levels.
While each person’s choices are crucial, and the challenges to overcome are group one, companies have a responsibility and a key role too. They must first assess the external consequences of their activities (without any omissions) and review their practices by making more ethical choices.
La belle-iloise aims to provide you with healthy, balanced and responsible food
For 90 years, la belle-iloise has been making products of the highest quality. For us, this quality has always implied the key notion of respect: respect for the fish we process, the quantities we catch, the seasons, our partners and employees, and our customers.
Bolstered by these fundamental values of putting quality and people first, la belle-iloise has set itself a mission: “Enabling everyone to live better by combining healthy eating and eating for pleasure.”
In essence, we want to positively mark people’s lives by offering products that are good for you and the planet. That is our raison d’êtretoday, and it’s the right path to contributing to a sustainable society. As a manufacturer and distributor of tinned goods, doing our part to build a better world means seeking out the healthiest, most balanced and most responsible food possible.
To ensure you have made the right choice by buying our products, we must now betransparent about where they came from and how they were made. That includes giving you visibility of the company, our values, priorities, and how we work. It’s why we acted in 2021, launching our Act consciouslyweb page to explain who we are and how we operate and share with you the CSR policy that guides our business daily.
By applying for this sustainabilitylabel, we wanted to go even further with an outside view. As such, an independent auditing body visited our teams in Quiberon to review our actions and how we work. It measured the effectiveness of these actions and pointed us to future actions.
Enseigne Responsable:A dynamic quality label that assesses and commits la belle-iloise over the years to come
This label is not a mere seal of approval and is far from a given. It commits la belle-iloise for the next three years. It is not about being content with what we do, which we do well already, but about doing even better.
La belle-iloise will followa progress plan assessing our CSR performance every year. We will get regular feedback on our strengths and areas to improve, meaning we can prioritise our actionsto move ahead and progress better.
The Enseigne Responsableis an industry label created in France for businesses 15 years ago by the Collective Génération Responsable. It aims to champion progress in local, corporate social responsibility. And it does so by assessing brands overall: from product manufacturing to distribution.
This label is in keeping with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and ISO standard 26000. It already includes 37 French companies determined to act by meeting more than 50 commitments for more sustainable trade
With a concerted effort to do what is needed, ecological transition and sustainable development on a global level will become possible. La belle-iloise is proud this label has recognised our actions, and we are enthusiastic about our future progress.
