Celebrating 90 years! #10 In honour of the Saint-Avé teams

Celebrating 90 years of existence by sharing the stories of the men and the women who have made, and continue to make, la belle-iloise. Meeting them, asking them questions, going through their lives. That's what we're bringing you, in images and words, to spend a moment together on this anniversary.
For the 10th and last portrait of the year, we pay homage to our Saint-Avé teams. Dive into the beating heart of our logistics site and meet our Christmas elves, ready and raring to prepare magical Christmas holidays for you!
Delivered straight from Quiberon with our one and only la belle-iloise lorry, all our tins pass through the Saint-Avé site, near Vannes, to be assemblied into packs, assortments and giftboxes. They are then stored before being prepared for delivery to our direct sales stores, resellers or straight to your home!

THE PACKING WORKSHOP

Soizic Peuto, Packaging Workshop Manager
In the packing workshop, around twenty workers headed by Soizic Peuto work hard to prepare all la belle-iloise’s product offerings into meshes, pouches, assortments, or gift boxes.

PREPARATION
Everything assembled on the assembly line in the packing workshop goes into cardboard boxes. It is then placed on pallets and stored by Christophe Le Cadre’s team, ready for preparation for your orders or those for our resellers and stores.

Christophe Le Cadre, Logistics Team Leader, preparing store orders
Every week, Christophe and his team supply the la belle-iloise stores with goods based on their needs so that they are always well stocked. They make sure the pallets are as stable as possible so that the products are not damaged during transport and reach their destination in perfect condition.

REMOTE SALES

Amélie Frixon, Remote Sales Team Leader.

In the remote sales area, Amélie Frixon’s team prepares and sends all the orders entered by the customer services team in Quiberon: mail, Internet and phone orders. The aim is for our customers to be fully satisfied when they open their packages. To ensure that happens, the team handles the tins with the utmost precaution so that they arrive safe and sound.
The team ensures the packages are as robust as possible to prevent any damage during transport, using 100% recycled and recyclable paper to secure and stabilise the tins inside the box. We care for the environment and want to avoid unnecessary waste, so we use different sizes of boxes to adapt the boxes to the size of the products.

Scheduling: We sort orders by carrier and date before associating them one by one with a label and a QR code for package tracking purposes during preparation

Preparation: Katell and Marine taking the products and quantities requested for each order from the racks.

Package securing station: Nathalie, placing the tins into boxes and putting paper between the products. She also adds the delivery note for the customer and sometimes a Christmas card or a happy new year card.

Palletising: Laurent carefully closing the boxes, then dividing them up into pallets by carrier.

You can tell which la belle-iloise boxes are heading to customers as they have pretty blue waves!
TRANSPORTATION
Once the packages are prepared for the stores and customers, the carriers come to collect them. Julie Le Leuch liaises between the carriers and la belle-iloise, orchestrating the arrivals and departures of the various lorries to and from Saint-Avé.She keeps an eagle eye on the quality of each delivery. Products must arrive in good condition and on time.
