Baked sardines with tapenade en papillote
Combine our Sardines with Tapenade with good tomatoes, sweet onion and a touch of herbs to make wonderful Provence-flavoured papillotes in no time at all, and enjoy a light dish with a holiday flavour!


All ingredients
1 tin (115 g) sardines with tapenade la belle-iloise
200 g fleshy tomatoes
½ sweet onion
1 pinch of herbs de Provence
Salt and pepper
Let's goet started

Step 1Preheat the oven to 220 °C (gas mark 7/8).

Step 2Slice the tomatoes and cut the onion into thin strips.

Step 3Prepare two 30 cm sheets of aluminium foil or greaseproof paper.

Step 4Garnish the middle section of each sheet with the vegetables, herbs and seasoning.

Step 5Place 2 sardines on each bed of vegetables and pour a little sauce evenly on top.

Step 6Gently fold each sheet to form 2 parcels - papillotes in French - and place in the oven for 15 minutes.

Step 7Serve with rice or crushed potatoes.
- Sprinkle with fresh chopped herbs (parsley, coriander, basil) before serving.
- For microwave cooking, use greaseproof paper only.
- Cooking time will vary (4 to 5 minutes) depending on the power of the appliance.
